Catechin works for COVID?

Green Tea contains Catechin

According to the “Green Tea and Health Symposium” held in Kyoto in April 2021, a research paper was published that the virus in the oral cavity is inactivated by drinking tea gargle or tea.
The new coronavirus infection seems to have much in common, such as the same “contact infection” and “spray infection” as influenza virus. Therefore, it seems that the catechin component contained in green tea inactivates the virus in the oral cavity, which prevents the infected person from transmitting the virus to others and is effective in preventing infection.
Its effectiveness against the new coronavirus has not yet been proven, but it seems that it is expected to have high antiviral activity.
